Junior Sculling Regatta 2025

Junior Sculling Regatta 2025

On a hugely busy weekend for Team WinTech & King, with our shells in use up and down the country, we enjoyed another successful day out at the 2025 Junior Sculling Regatta. WinTech finished the racing as the most medalled boatbuilder by some distance, claiming 25 podium positions in total.

On the open side, we collected five golds across various events. The Windsor Boys School – whose crews we have supported to victories across many events in the last decade – ran out victors in the open junior 14 octuples. We also won bronze in this event via Brentford Boat Club.

In the quads, we won gold in all but one of the open categories, including the open junior 18 (Lea Rowing Club), open junior 16 (Windsor Boys), and open junior 15 (Yarm School). In the latter, we also won silver and bronze with Windsor Boys School and Henley Rowing Club, respectively. The Windsor Boys also collected bronze in the junior 16 category. In the open junior 14 division, silver went to Henley Rowing Club in our shell.

The open doubles were also a rich source of success for Team Wintech. We won all available medals in the open junior 18 division, as the Windsor Boys' School took gold and silver and RGS Wycombe collected bronze. In the open junior 17 category, we won bronze with the City of Bristol, whilst the Windsor Boys School won silver in the open junior 16 A-final.

In the singles, Broxbourne Rowing Club won bronze in a WinTech, mirroring the result of Wycliffe in the open junior 17 category, who also raced in a WinTech. Bronze was again the order of the day for WinTech in the open junior 16 singles, as Lea Rowing Club finished in third behind St Peter’s and the South African Schools Rowing Association.

On the women’s side, a further seven medals followed, starting with silver and bronze in the women’s junior 15 coxed quads. Marlow finished second, narrowly behind Rob Roy, whilst Headington placed third.

We collected silver in the women’s junior 18 doubles whilst riding with RGS Worcester, who landed between a superb Tideway Scullers duo and Rob Roy in third. We also won silver in the junior 17 equivalent, this time alongside Tideway Scullers School, who lost out to Yarm in gold but snuck past Great Marlow School in third.

In the women’s junior 16 doubles, Headington School won silver in a WinTech and Herford also collected bronze in our boat, but both could not overcome an impressive Hartpury College crew in gold.

Our final medal on the women’s side came in the junior 14 double, as the City of Bristol won silver behind Barn Elms.

It was great to see so many juniors out racing on Dorney Lake ahead of the National Schools’ Regatta in just under three weeks’ time. With so much competition to come over the next couple of months, Team WinTech and King cannot wait to support all athletes regardless of their personal and collective aims. We look forward to seeing many of you on riverbanks and lakeside throughout the course of the summer.
