WinTech crews delivered an impressive set of results at the 2026 WinTech Junior Sculling Head, securing multiple category victories and a strong spread of podium finishes across the day at Dorney Lake.
The event once again brought together a large field of junior athletes from across the UK, racing across J14 to J17 categories in one of the final head races of the winter season. With crews beginning to sharpen form ahead of the summer regattas, the racing offered an early indication of speed across both sculling and octuple events. Throughout the programme, crews racing in WinTech shells featured prominently at the front of the field.
Racing began with a strong performance in the Open J16 Quadruple Sculls, where The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) set the early pace to take the win. Mark Wilkinson's programme continues to gather pace ahead of yet another tilt at summer silverware.
In the Women’s J16 Quadruple Sculls, Nottinghamshire County Rowing Association (WinTech International) secured second place in a competitive field, finishing behind Maidenhead Rowing Club, with City of Cambridge Rowing Club in third.
The J15 events provided some of the closest racing of the day. Marlow Rowing Club (WinTech International) produced a strong performance to win the Women’s J15 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, with Sir William Perkins’s School (WinTech International) close behind in second, completing a one-two for WinTech boats, while Henley Rowing Club took third. In the Open J15 Octuples, The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) added another win, ahead of Hampton School and Bedford School.
Elsewhere, Headington School Oxford Boat Club also secured a bronze medal racing in a King shell.
In the Open J15 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, Walbrook Rowing Club took the win, but WinTech crews filled the remaining podium positions, with The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) finishing second and Leeds Rowing Club (WinTech International) taking third.
In the older junior categories, The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club continued their strong showing from the Schools' Head of the River by winning the Open Junior Quadruple Sculls in a WinTech Cobra FLX, ahead of Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School and Marlow Rowing Club. In the Open J17 Quadruple Sculls, George Watson’s College Rowing Club (WinTech Cobra) took the win, with Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) finishing second and Marlow Rowing Club in third.
The J14 events rounded out the day with further strong performances. Headington School Oxford Boat Club (WinTech International) took victory in the Women’s J14 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, with Henley Rowing Club (WinTech International) finishing third and Bewl Bridge Rowing Club in second. In the Open J14 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, Gorse Boat Club (WinTech Competitor) secured second place behind Brentford Boat Club, with Reading Blue Coat School in third. Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) capped off the day with another win in the Open J14 Octuples, ahead of St George’s College and St Paul’s School.
With the head season now drawing to a close, attention will turn toward the regatta season, where many of these crews will look to build on their form in the months ahead. We look forward to supporting these crews throughout the season.
