National Schools Regatta 2026

WinTech and King crews delivered an outstanding set of results at the 2026 National Schools' Regatta, with victories and podium finishes across all three days of competition. Spread across the J14, J15, J16 and J18 categories in both the open and girls' events, WinTech and King shells took 31 medals in total, including 12 golds across the weekend.

Friday's racing produced immediate success across the younger age groups. Headington School won the Girls' J14 Coxed Quad Sculls in a WinTech International, with Lea taking silver in a King SE, a WinTech International and King 1-2 to open the regatta. In the Open J14 Coxed Quad Sculls, Gorse Rowing Club took the win in a WinTech Competitor. Windsor Boys' School were busy across the J14 eights, finishing second in both the Open J14 1st Eight and the Open J14 2nd Eight, both in WinTech International hulls.

The J15 events on Friday were a particular highlight. In the Girls' J15 1st Coxed Quad Sculls, WinTech International crews swept the top three (Sir William Perkins's School winning, Headington School second and Marlow Rowing Club third), a clean podium across three different WinTech-hulled programmes. Windsor Boys' School won the Open J15 1st Coxed Quad Sculls in WinTech International, with Leeds third in the same event. Headington School won the Girls' J15 2nd Coxed Quad Sculls with Sir William Perkins's School second, both in WinTech International. Yarm School finished third in the Open J15 2nd Coxed Quad Sculls and Nottingham and Union third in the Girls' J15 Coxed Four, both in WinTech International hulls.

Saturday brought further medals. Windsor Boys' School won the Open Championship Coxed Four in a King, one of the blue-riband sweep events of the regatta and a significant national title for the Windsor programme. They also won the Open 2nd Coxed Quad in a WinTech Cobra FLX and finished second in the Open Championship Coxless Four in WinTech International, making it an exceptional Saturday across both sculling and sweep. Headington School finished third in the Girls' J16 2nd Eight in a King, and Kingston Grammar School took third in the Girls' J16 Coxed Four in WinTech International.

Sunday produced the most concentrated run of results, with Windsor Boys' School again central to the story. Windsor Boys' won the Open J16 Quad Sculls in WinTech International, won the Open J16 2nd Quad Sculls in WinTech International, and took second in the Open J18 Championship Double Sculls in a WinTech Cobra SE FLX. The highlight of the day came in the Open J18 Championship Quad Sculls, where Windsor Boys' took the gold medal in a WinTech Cobra SE FLX, with Sir William Borlase's Grammar School third in a WinTech Cobra, making it a WinTech 1-3 in the flagship boys' sculling final. Windsor Boys' also finished third in the Open J18 Championship Coxless Pair in WinTech International, completing a remarkable weekend across the J16 and J18 programme.

In the girls' events on Sunday, Tideway Scullers School won the Girls' J16 Double Sculls in a WinTech Cobra, and Sir William Perkins's School won the Girls' J16 2nd Quad Sculls in WinTech International. Sir William Perkins's School also finished second in the Girls' J16 Quad Sculls in WinTech International, meaning Perkins crews claimed top-two in the girls' J16 quad events on the final day, an impressive display of depth from the Surrey school. Hereford Cathedral School finished second in the Open J16 Double Sculls in WinTech International, Infinity Rowing took third in the Open J16 Quad Sculls in WinTech International, and Grange finished third in the Open J18 Championship Single Sculls in a WinTech Cobra.

Across the three days, Windsor Boys' School were the standout WinTech and King programme at the regatta, winning the Open Championship Coxed Four in a King, the J18 Championship Quad Sculls and two J16 quad events in WinTech, and finishing on the podium in the J18 Championship Double Sculls, Championship Coxless Four and Championship Coxless Pair.

The spread of results beyond Windsor (across Headington, Perkins, Marlow, Tideway Scullers, Borlase, Lea, Gorse, Leeds, Kingston Grammar, Yarm, Hereford Cathedral, Infinity and Nottingham and Union) demonstrates that WinTech and King's presence at the National Schools' Regatta is broad as well as deep. We congratulate every crew and coach on their performances and look forward to following these programmes through the summer season.
